How can I access the range?
Proctor Fish and Game is a members only range. Members can bring the occasional guest as long as they sign a safety waiver.
How do I join the club?
Here is the Application Form! LINK! Please print off the application form, fill it in and send it to P.O box 624, Proctor VT 05765
All new members must pass a firearms safety test, which are held several times a year. We will contact you when a class is scheduled.
What should I bring to the safety test?
You should bring a small caliber pistol or rifle. A 22LR is best, but something like a 9mm or 45ACP is acceptable. Also required is hearing protection and eye protection! Contact the New Member Committee you are unsure about your firearm
What are the Hours of Operation
Range access is open 9am thru Dusk Monday thru Saturday. No shooting on Sundays except for special club events or the indoor .22 only range.

All scheduling for range activities is under the purview and control of the Board.

ALL range proposals for any activities MUST be cleared and scheduled with the Board.

Outside of Board approved activities, NO Law Enforcement/Military or Security training is allowed.

TREAT ALL FIREARMS AS IF THEY WERE LOADED.

KEEP THE MUZZLE POINTED IN A SAFE DIRECTION - DOWNRANGE.
Do not allow the muzzle to point at anything you do not intend to destroy. -
KEEP YOUR FINGER OFF THE TRIGGER AND OUT OF THE TRIGGER GUARD UNTIL YOU ARE READY TO FIRE.

ALL FIREARMS MUST REMAIN UNLOADED AND WITH ACTIONS OPEN EXCEPT ON THE FIRING LINE. A handgun may be carried on one's person only in a holster designed for the safe and secure retention of that handgun. No handgun will be removed from that holster except on the firing line, and in accordance with range commands.

DO NOT HANDLE ANY FIREARMS WHEN THERE IS SOMEONE DOWNRANGE. See item 4.

ANYONE CAN (AND SHOULD) CALL A CEASEFIRE IF THEY SEE A DANGEROUS SITUATION.

EYE AND EAR PROTECTION must be worn by all shooters and spectators.

NO ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES WILL BE ALLOWED on or behind any firing line while shooting is in progress. Violators will be asked to leave the premises.

No Shooting of glass or other materials that may shatter or ricochet.

No shooting of ground targets, except on the bank of the 100 yard backstop.

ALL SHOTS MUST IMPACT DESIGNATED BACKSTOPS ONLY. Do not allow shots to impact the grass areas as they may ricochet. Do not shoot into the woods.

POLICE YOUR BRASS ONLY WHEN RANGE IS CLEAR. The bucket is for BRASS ONLY, aluminum and steel cases go in the garbage can.

No littering. Please remove all trash and targets you brought.

No shooter 17 or younger may use range facilities without adult MEMBER supervision.

NO FULL AUTO may be used without prior approval of the Board of Directors.

NO TRAP SHOOTING.

DO NOT USE THE 200 YARD RANGE, unless a Range Officer is present.

Hours of Operation: 9am to Dusk, no shooting on Sunday except for Club Events.

SHARE THE RANGE. Shoot with other club members, or give up the bench within 30 minutes of someone's arrival.

No vehicles should be driven between shooting positions or down range without Board approval. Vehicles could damage our drainage system, which may cause the range to close for costly repairs. People causing damage may have their membership revoked.
Steel Target Rules

Ear and eye protection must be worn by everyone at all times.

Steel targets must not be engaged with a rifle from closer than 100 yards.

Nothing more powerful than a .30-06.

No magnum rifles.

Maximum muzzle velocity is 3,200 fps.

Absolutely no 5.56 Green Tip ammo.

No armor piercing ammo of any kind.

No steel case imported ammo.

When in doubt, shoot paper, not steel. Please, let's protect our investment.
